Chef Grant Achatz
Alinea - 3 Michelin Star

Being invited to photograph in Chef Grant Achatz’s kitchen at Alinea was one of those “Oh shit, is this really happening?” moments—the kind that sticks with you long after it’s over. It’s not just a kitchen; it’s a creative playground where years of practice and precision meets an almost mad-scientist type imagination. Every plate was a story, every movement rehearsed over and over, and the energy in that room was electric. It was a rare, behind-the-scenes look at what happens when passion and craft collide.
Alinea isn’t just about food—it’s about emotion, creativity, and connection. That night, the dishes didn’t just taste incredible, they made you feel something. One course had us laughing, another left us in awe, and there was even a moment when I caught myself getting misty eyed (I'm not crying, you're crying!). Food that makes you feel—that’s an entirely different level of mastery. Capturing those moments, documenting that kind of artistry, was a privilege I don’t take lightly. It reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place—because at its best, it’s a way to preserve the kind of moments that words can’t capture.
