I recently spent a few days in Vienna at the legendary Synchron Stage, photographing an orchestra as they recorded Christian Lundberg’s score for Why We Dream, a WWII documentary produced by Delta Air Lines. Christian, a Senior Composer at Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers Music, wrote a piece that’s raw, emotional, and absolutely haunting—perfect for a story rooted in history and humanity. Watching the music come alive in that space was electric, the kind of experience that hits you in the chest and stays there.

Synchron Stage has its own complicated history—it was built in the late 1930s and used for Nazi propaganda films. Standing there, knowing that, while hearing this incredible score being recorded, was like witnessing light overcoming darkness. What once served as a tool of fear and control is now a space where beauty and art are born. To capture that transformation, to be part of something that connects us to the past while inspiring hope for the future? That’s the kind of work I live for.
